Looking to get better results from your online campaigns?

Don’t forget ALL the aspects of your landing pages when setting up an online campaign. It’s not just about making it look pretty. Below are some things everyone designing their own landing page needs to consider when putting your online marketing plan into action and get more sales leads:

  1. Carry through your ad message. Simple and true. Make sure your design and message on the landing page are seamless with your ads; it’s the same campaign after all. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen people use landing pages from old campaigns and then just change some text. NOT COOL! Do it right.
  2. Call to action. Yes, that phrase is old and tired, but you need to be telling the potential customer what to do now that you’ve gotten them to your page. Be brief. Be strong. Be clear.
  3. Dynamic headers / footers / text. With search engine marketing, email marketing, and display advertising online USE your variables! That code isn’t just for tracking, you can use it to target the content of your landing pages. Depending on the source, keyword and ad content, you can insert all of that into the title, H1 tags, text and footer of the landing page to optimize the page. This will  help your quality score so your cost per click will decrease a little. You’ll get a better ad ranking and the potential customer’s eyes will focus on the same keywords they just typed into a search box, which helps keep them on the page.
  4. Get their name and email!! I know it depends on the complexity of your service, but I HATE those long forms where you’re expected to turn over your life history just to get a newsletter or to submit an inquiry. Keep it short and easy. If it’s a pain to fill out a form, the likelihood they will is low.
  5. Automate the sign up response, but keep it concise. When they do turn over their contact info, make sure the page can send a quick thank you, but keep it at that. Don’t get too whacky with the content. Depending on what you do, let the newsletter take it from there, or the sales team. Important, however, is to tell them what to expect next; don’t leave them hanging.

5 simple things to ALWAYS keep in mind, and I promise you’ll get better results.
